Bakhtawar Khan issued orders to the Diwani officers that they should report to the Emperor (Aurangzeb) the income and expenditure at the end of the year and should bring it to the gusalakhana every Wednesday the the registers of Diwans of the tankhawa and Crown land departments. Inayat Khan reported that since the reign of Shahjahan, the public expenditure had exceeded the income by 14 lakhs of rupees. it was ordered that the Privy purse (khalsa) income should be fixed at 4:00 crores of rupees and the expenditure the same. After looking over the accounts of disbursements His Majesty retrenched many items of the expenditure of the Emperor, the princes and the Begums. SAQI MUSTAD KHAN 1724 AD
